With Apple's new iPhone scheduled to release tomorrow, we're here to help those still on the fence when it comes to deciding whether the purchase is worth it or not. Here we're taking a detailed look at the camera of the iPhone XS and its real-world capabilities by sharing some shots with you.

The iPhone XS boasts a dual-camera system with 12MP rear cameras and a 7MP TrueDepth front camera, "where an innovative sensor works with the ISP and Neural Engine to help you create photos like never before," Apple proclaims. The iPhone XS camera has the ability to perform five trillion operations per second, serving as the world’s fastest photographer’s assistant in conjunction with the Apple-designed ISP. Furthermore, the camera system considers a number of aspects including face detection, facial landmarking, depth mapping, and portrait lighting to create some of the best photos possible on a mobile device.

The phone's new Smart HDR Mode sees faster sensors, an enhanced ISP, and advanced algorithms coming together to bring more highlight and shadow detail to your photos.

Portrait Mode

One of the standout features on the new device, the phone's all-new Depth Control feature allows you to adjust the depth of field after you've taken a shot. Such sophisticated bokeh, or background blur, equates to unmatched portraits.

Speaking of portraits, the TrueDepth camera ensures you remain in focus for enhanced Portrait Mode selfies. Again, you can also edit the Depth Control following the shot.

Low-Light Situation

Shooting in low light? Not a problem with the iPhone XS, as the camera sensor features deeper, larger pixels, ultimately improving image fidelity. Essentially, the larger pixels allow for more light to hit the sensor resulting in better low-light photographs.

Normal Mode

For capturing your typical on-the-go photos, you'll be able to take advantage of the iPhone XS's faster sensors, Smart HDR, and zero shutter lag, which enables users to essentially freeze a moment in time and retain those enhanced highlights and shadow details.

Apple also insists that the iPhone XS shoots the highest-quality video of any smartphone. Designed to capture 4K video, the camera is capable of better low-light performance, extended dynamic range in videos up to 30 fps, stereo recording, and stereo playback with wider sound separation.
