Apple Reportedly Planning 3 New iPhones, Including Colorful Budget Model
Highsnobiety aims to provide our readers with the latest updates in the tech world. However, we cannot verify the reliability of any unauthorized leaks or rumors unless this information is provided directly by the brands themselves.
Matching many of the rumors to date, Bloomberg reports that Apple is planning to launch three new iPhones that will boast a wider range of features, sizes, and prices. Specifically, the three models will be an upgraded iPhone X with 5.8-inch OLED screen, a new premium iPhone with 6.5-inch OLED screen, and a cheaper model that looks like the iPhone X, comes with a 6.1-inch LCD screen, and is set to arrive in a number of different colors.
The report states that none of the new phones will have an entirely new design, with some unnamed sources within Apple calling the launch an "S year," expanding on and improving current models. Elsewhere, Bloomberg reports that the two larger phones will come with dual-SIM card slots "in at least some regions." All new devices will boast new gesture controls and Apple's face-unlocking Face ID system. The largest phone is also said to be able to show content side-by-side in apps such as Mail and Calendar.
Details of the phones' names and launch date are as-yet unconfirmed, although a September launch is expected. Elsewhere, the Apple Watch looks set to get a larger, near-edge-to-edge screen while retaining very similar dimensions to current models. We'll post more updates as they arrive.
