To coincide with the official announcement of their new music service, Apple has created an ad aptly titled the "History of Sound." Beginning in 1888 with the victrola, the commercial spotlights the most important inventions in music listening history, which includes the iPod and iPhone, eventually ending up at the Cupertino company's new music platform. Of course, before Apple claims the throne of another groundbreaking innovation, they'll have to defeat their competitors over at Spotify and TIDAL.

Enjoy the ad above and read all about Apple's latest WWDC announcements including iOS 9, OS X El Capitan and new Apple Watch software.
