The Lunar New Year hasn't kicked off just yet, but it's already off to a stylish start with several snake-inspired collections.

It can be hard to cut through all the noise of the upcoming Lunar New Year collections, but Arc'teryx managed to do just that.

The Canadian outerwear brand gave its iconic Alpha SV jacket a limited edition makeover for the occasion. Arc'teryx even teamed up with designer Romon Kimin Yang, or ROSTARR, to bring this clean jacket to life.

Arc'teryx and ROSTARR gave the its Alpha SV jacket a fresh look for the Year of the Wood Snake. Using the jacket's signature durable triple-layer GORE-TEX Pro 2.0 material, the sleeve gets an additional embroidered snake motif in yellow stitching, created by ROSTARR in a single stroke.

But the pairing didn't just throw a snake on a coat and call it a day. The deeper meaning behind it takes inspiration from “urushi”, the Japanese word for natural lacquer derived from tree sap found across Southeast Asia. It makes sense, given that the jacket balances modern innovation and tradition, similar to the material that's been used in Asian artistic pieces for thousands of years.

The Year of the Snake officially starts on January 29, but that hasn't stopped brands from releasing their serpent-inspired takes honoring the Lunar New Year.

From adidas' Superstar sneaker to Dr. Martens' classic boots, fashion and sneaker collections featuring snakeskin and embroidered Chinese lettering are plentiful.

I'd suggest grabbing Arc'teryx's jacket now, but it's not quite that simple. The Arc'teryx Year of the Snake Alpha SV is now available, but only in person at select stores.
