Editor's Notes: Put these on, and you might just blast off.

Balmain finally dropped the B-IT slide, sculptural slip-ons that look like spaceships  — or speedboats, depending on who you ask — for your feet.

The shoes are deceptively simple: a quilted leather strap sits atop a rounded midsole that comes to an aggressive point at the toe. Of course, the proportions of each component are totally exaggerated, resulting in a style that would make any pedestrian stop and wonder: "WTF are those?!"

The slides might look bizarre, but shoppers are clamoring for the shoe — already, they're sold out on Balmain's website. Luckily, retailers including SSENSE have you covered.

It seems fans will have to wait for Balmain's more eye-catching B-IT colorways, though. As teased by the label's head of sneaker design, Safa Sahin, the style will eventually release in bold shades of green and pink.

Balmain has been developing a formidable line-up of inventive footwear. The ultra chunky B-Bold and the pointy Unicorn are two styles that have caught the public's attention, thanks to their unexpected proportions. On Instagram, Sahin often teases equally wacky heels, including a wedged version of the B-Bold.

Take note: Balmain's B-IT is that B-IT-CH.
