Carhartt WIP’s FW22 Campaign Is a Vibe
When Carhartt WIP revealed its Tom Kleinschmidt-shot Fall/Winter 2022 lookbook last month, it was a sure-fire sign that big coat season was just around the corner.
I’m not saying I’m not a fan of shorts, tees, copious amounts of sweat, and just being generally pretty uncomfortable all of the time, but enough is enough, in London at least.
Alas, despite global warming, colder climates are now upon us, and like clockwork Carhartt WIP has released its accompanying seasonal campaign to whet those layering lips.
Captured by Belgian photographer Jorre Janssens, the campaign features a series of striking black and white studio portraits of talent representing the brand’s ever-evolving DNA.
Starring the likes of Nigerian-born south London rapper Flohio and Tweaks, an artist who was part of the NTS WIP artist development program for 2021, the campaign offers a glimpse at some of the brand’s most staple pieces, styled to perfection.
Long-time brand collaborator and London-based artist Lord Apex also features alongside a slew of faces from the Carhartt WIP’s skate team, which includes Ibu Sanyang and Pepe Tirelli – two stars of the brand’s recent full length skate film INSIDE OUT.
If the collection itself wasn’t enough (WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!) Carhartt WIP has also curated two playlists titled “Music To Skate To,” alongside a range of sounds from Lord Apex which explores his musical inspirations.
While Carhartt WIP might not be the first brand you think of when outerwear is mentioned, it is certainly always in the conversation when durable winter wear is discussed. Which is handy, because that’s exactly what the sartorial doctor ordered.
