Conor McGregor to Battle Khabib Nurmagomedov in "Biggest Fight in UFC History"
Conor McGregor is returning to UFC and his first fight will be against Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas on October 6. McGregor will fight in a bid to reclaim his lightweight title that Nurmagomedov currently holds.
UFC president Dana White told Fox Sports that the event will be the "biggest fight in UFC history." McGregor hasn't fought in the UFC since 2016, when he took a break from the sport to focus on fighting Floyd Mayweather in the history-making boxing match last August.
In July, McGregor avoided a prison sentence following an incident where he attacked a bus full of UFC fighters, including Nurmagomedov.
