Watch Cuba Gooding Jr. Play a Former Boxing Champion in His Directorial Debut
Cuba Gooding Jr. plays a former boxing champion in the new trailer for his directorial debut, Bayou Caviar.
The 50-year-old actor — whose previous projects include Boyz in the Hood, American Crime Story, and an Oscar-winning performance in Jerry Maguire — stars as Rodney Jones, a former champion turned club bouncer who dreams of reclaiming victory in the ring.
Despite Jones' attempt to stay out of trouble, things take a turn for the stressful when he witnesses his boss' murder and is consequently roped into the mafia business. The official synopsis describes the movie as a drama about "money, sex, power, corruption - and somebody getting fed to alligators."
X-Men's Famke Janssen and Richard Dreyfuss also star.
