Highsnobiety
Double Tap to Zoom

In terms of this year's crop of UK rap debuts, D Double E's Jackuum! is promising to be among the most essential. The artist has already unveiled "Nang", a collaboration with the one and only Skepta, and "Better Than the Rest," which found him linking up with grime-godfather Wiley. Now, D Double E has offered up "Back Then," a track arriving with its own overtly-DIY, collagist visual, making its world premiere here on Highsnobiety. Watch it below.

Speaking on the visual, D Double E told us that “The video is jokes that quickly time warp us back in time to when things were less technical... Back Then.” Videographer and frequent collaborator James John added that “the whole creative process was really just a lot of reminiscing and laughter over the phone. I think that same energy comes across in the video.”

Stay tuned for D Double E's Jackuum! to arrive sometime this summer.

For more of our premieres, take a listen to the new track from Black Grapefruit, "Omygod."
