Stop the RIPs. DatPiff lives.

"Despite the rumors, we are happy to report that we will still be supplying you with all the mixtapes you love," DatPiff tweeted. "Thanks for all the love and concerns, but we promise we are still here."

On March 14, a Reddit user reported that the legendary mixtape platform "finally shut down" after 18 years of blessing hip-hop fans with free access to iconic projects from Lil Wayne's Sorry 4 The Wait to Chief Keef's Back from the Dead. As one tweeter put it, "you had to be there."

The user pointed out the site's unresponsiveness, while others chimed in about the app's hiccups, which are probably part of the "technical issues" DatPiff mentioned in its tweet.

Nonetheless, once word got out about the end of the DatPiff era, hip-hop lovers took to Twitter to host a social media funeral and remember the good times they've experienced with historical platform launched in 2005.

But DatPiff ain't dead yet. Give it some time to resolve its issues. I suspect the hefty hip-hop archive will be back and running in no time.
