Every now and again, a controversial constellation shows its face – or one of many, rather: Double denim is as adored as it is feared, manifesting in just about every other trend or revival thereof.
It skips over and spares some – think, ballet- or corpcore – only to reappear, reimagined, faintly or more aggressively, in the likes of cowboycore, indie sleaze or boho chic.
Whereas Chloé and Valentino, for instance, are honing in on 60s and 70s eclecticism and those eras' downright historical ties to the jeans fabric, the likes of Diesel and Bottega Veneta are viewing the cotton twill-weave through a more conceptual, experimental lens (leather jorts or denim Intrecciato, anyone?).

TikTok's been aflood with tutorials on how to dress in double denim without looking a fool, for at least a year now – a slow but significant surge in interest for it clearly ongoing.
