Since launching Fear of God back in 2013, Jerry Lorenzo has transformed the label from yet another streetwear start-up to an almost emblem of contemporary Los Angeles culture with his seemingly effortless designs.

Thanks to the constant conveyor belt of timeless, wearable garments, FoG has managed to establish itself as one of the labels in the realm of luxury streetwear, garnering a loyal cult following in the process too.

On April 19, Lorenzo stepped things up a level by taking FoG to the runway for the first time inside the iconic Hollywood Bowl amphitheater.

“My wife and I have seen everyone from Christoper Cross and Steely Dan, to Bon Iver, Nas and Wu-Tang here [Hollywood Bowl]," Lorenzo told Highsnobiety following the show. "For us this is the most special place in LA. Everything we do comes from such a deep place of honesty and this represents that."

"Life is different people trying to live and laugh together and sometimes there aren’t words for that, sometimes it’s emotion, sometimes it’s just Kanye making sounds with his mouth, but through all of that comes something,” he continued.

Presenting the label's latest collection, the event showcased the usual array of elevated essentials and luxury leisurewear, as well as a first-look at the much-anticipated adidas collaborations.

The show itself though was kinda what we expected, which is a good thing. A slew of looks from the brand’s ESSENTIALS sub-label was paired with a taster of its Athletics adi collaboration, while an array of monochromatic ensembles seasoned proceedings nicely. In truth, it was all presented in a more stylistic and pleasing way than many had predicted. Less dusty, more luxury.

Footwear was the highlight of the collection though, with some chunky collaborative adidas numbers sported by Pusha T who performed during the show that looked awfully like the pair seen earlier this year.

Away from the runway, one tweet described the event as "being more star-studded than the Oscars" with countless celebrities in attendance, one of which included Sampha who also performed, as well as Lorenzo's close friend Ye who was spotted alongside his wife Bianca.

Due to the lack of live stream, FoG's runway debit was truly a had to be there occasion, but certainly one that can be considered a major milestone for the brand a decade into its existence.

In short though, what Lorenzo delivered was exactly what he needed to in the birthplace of the label. But, at the same time, it has now set a pretty high-bar for FoG the next time it takes to the runway — whenever that may be.
