Editor’s Notes:

FILA’s been running laps around the chunky sneaker circuit after a number of successful launches in recent years helped establish the sportstyle brand as a stylish value proposition for sneakerheads on a budget. One of the silhouettes FILA brought back last year is the V94M, a reissue of its original Venom silhouette that first dropped in 1994.

Now they’ve partnered with Superkicks on a hyper-limited edition of the V94M that tells the story of how India’s premium sneaker and streetwear store came to fruition. Superkicks is the premier destination for sneakerheads in India. In 2018, it opened a store in Mumbai and then opened a second store in Bengaluru in 2019, and quickly became a community for sneaker and street culture enthusiasts. The store doesn't just sell premium sneakers and apparel, but curates events, sneakerhead meetups, and gives customers a whole new perspective to exclusive launches in store.

Limited to just 90 pairs total, the sneaker’s color palette is inspired by hues found in the Indian city of Jaipur, known as the Pink City, and the blue seas of Mumbai.

“The idea for Superkicks was born in a place I thought was most unlikely — my hometown Jaipur,” explains Superkicks founder Sangeet Paryani in a press release. “Jaipur acted as the drawing board for all that is Superkicks today. I knew that for this idea to come to life, I’ll need to venture out of Jaipur. This journey led me to Mumbai, and NH8 became symbolic of my idea and the path towards making it a reality.”

Good luck trying to snag a pair as they’ll be dropping exclusively at the Superkicks Mumbai and Bangalore locations on November 16. For more, check out Superkicks.in.
