Back in April, GmbH launched its very first demi-couture line. Beginning with a range of pieces from the brand's FW21 collection “Welt Am Draht” (exclusive backstage images of which featured in the first BERLIN, BERLIN), the made-to-measure pieces include off-the-shoulder jackets and coats with detachable faux-fur stoles, all held in place using traditionally-made boned corsets.
“We have always had a particular interest in the craft of tailoring since Serhat cuts all the patterns for GmbH himself." the brand said at the time of the launch. "The demi-couture line is a way to bring some of this tradition and skill to life. We decided to make these items only available directly from GmbH, to have a much more accessible price point.”
Now for the second edition BERLIN, BERLIN, we're getting an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the garments - GmbH style. Of course, you didn't think the brand would just make a straightforward documentary, did you?
As models: the actual tailors who make GmbH's clothes, which the video follows as they painstakingly sew and construct the garment. Directed by frequent collaborator Thyago Sainte, the video is a haunting — and slightly creepy — look into the demi-couture process. Watch it above.
