Double Tap to Zoom

Nike has teamed up with ‘60s rock heroes Grateful Dead to deliver one of its loudest Dunks ever. The collab comprises three ultra-bright Nike SB Dunk Low colorways, in orange, yellow, and green, all of which make reference to the band’s 1973 album History of the Grateful Dead, Volume One (Bear’s Choice) and its artwork.

Plush faux fur makes up most of the shoe's upper and is contrasted with tonal suede panels. Detailing continues with a bear logo to the tongue and insole while an electric Swoosh graces each side complete with the jagged edge found throughout the Grateful Dead’s design history.

Seeing as the Nike SB Dunk is having more than a moment right now — on the heels of several big-ticket releases like the Dior collaboration and Ben & Jerry's colorway — it’s high time to get your hands on this pair of limited-edition Nike SB Dunk Lows if you can. And if you're lucky enough to do so, we've picked out some pieces that we'd recommend wearing them with. We've gone all out, unapologetically loud, taking more than a few sartorial queues from '60s psychedelia.

Keep scrolling for tips on how to style the Nike x Grateful Dead Dunk Low.

Tie-Dye & Graphic Tees

In true Deadhead style, opting for tie-dye or a loud graphic tee is sure to pair well with the psychedelic style of the Nike SB Dunk Low. Sometimes loud can only be matched with loud, rather than muted, and this is certainly one of those cases. So take it back to the ‘60s with a tripped out ensemble by the likes of Needles, Kapital, and Online Ceramics.

Denim

Denim, the great equalizer, is as suited to the world of rock & roll as it is to folk, blues, jazz, and pretty much any other musical subculture. It just so happens that the Grateful Dead made their mark by bringing a sound that combined aspects of all those genres. Keep it classic with a denim jacket from Levi's, and make sure it's got that effortlessly cool distressed aesthetic that the Grateful Dead knew all too well.

Sunglasses

Strong footwear needs to be balanced out up top, too. Nothing will make your Grateful Dead Nike SB Dunk Lows look more out of place than being the only out-there item in your outfit. Balance the eye-catching brightness with a pair of ‘60s-style shades. The world of psychedelic rock basically invented sunglasses, right? So pay homage to the forefathers with these options.

Finishing Touches

Don't be afraid to accessorize your look. As we mentioned, wearing a pair of sneakers as loud as these invites more loudness, and accessories provide the perfect opportunity to double down on your Grateful Dead cred, too. Let's be real, though, you probably haven't heard the band's music. As such, we've included a vinyl to get you up to scratch.
