Apple Debuts New $499 iPad Air With A12 Bionic Chip & Pencil Support
Ahead of its media event next week, Apple has introduced an all-new iPad Air with a 10.5-inch Retina display, A12 Bionic chip, and first-generation Apple Pencil support.
The new iPad Air is a lower-cost replacement for the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which Apple had also discontinued today. Offered in 64GB and 256GB storage configurations, prices start at $499 for Wi-Fi models, while Wi-Fi + Cellular models retail for $629.
In addition to the A12 chip boost, the new iPad Air features a fully laminated True Tone display with 2224 × 1668 resolution, however, it does not boast a ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate display or a quad speaker array, like the discontinued 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
Initial launch countries include the US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UAE, and the UK. Availability in other countries will follow soon.
Offered in gold, silver, and space gray finishes, you can learn more about the new iPad Air and order it now on Apple's website.
