Highsnobiety
Double Tap to Zoom

In celebration of Andrea Maack’s Smart fragrances, Lauren Luxenberg traveled north to snap the otherworldly beauty of Iceland.

While sadly there was no sign of Iceland’s most famous daughter, Björk, Luxenberg did manage to capture a number of sharp shots of the island nation’s snow-capped mountains, long winding roads, and iceberg-filled waters. In the shots in the gallery above, a feeling of calmness and serenity flows while simultaneously capturing the full force of mother nature.

“The peninsula is marked by active volcanism under its surface and large lava fields, allowing little vegetation,” said Luxenberg. “There are numerous hot springs and sulphur springs in the southern half of the peninsula, around Lake Kleifarvatn, where we started our journey, and the Krýsuvík geothermal area — a field of beige, baby blues and bubbling hot springs with beautiful steam that fills the air.”

For those interested, Andrea Maack’s Smart fragrances are available to purchase online. In the meantime, let us know what you think of the photos in the comments below.
