Has Mod Sun Been Copying A$AP Rocky's Homework?
It's only been a few days since A$AP Rocky took the stage at Rolling Loud and aired some anger at people stealing his style in an unreleased song. In lyrics that fans suspect are targeted at Travis Scott, he raps: "You stole my style I need my 10% all the disrespect I hope you take offense.”
Well, sorry Rocky, but we've caught another possible style imitator.
Mod Sun, who you might know for his single Stay Away with Machine Gun Kelly but most likely recognize as being Avril Lavigne's ex, just stepped out with his new girlfriend wearing a pretty familiar look.
The outfit in question (shown above) is an Off-White™ t-shirt (with "nobody knows I'm a lesbian" printed on it), a tartan kilt, distressed blue jeans, and a pair of Timberland boots — the bottom half being precisely the type of thing we've seen Rocky wearing for the past few years.
Pretty Flacko's been showing his New York roots by wearing Timbs with near enough everything (including jorts) while kilts and jeans have pretty much become his trademark. Likely a punk-inspired combination, we've seen him rock it for a while now — most notably at the Met Gala earlier this year.
He even made reference to his ongoing love for the tartan legwear in his new song 'RIOT' which dropped earlier this week. And in the video for the song, the rapper can be seen wearing a white top, kilt, pants, and shoes that look suspiciously like Timberlands (although on closer inspection they might be a pair of $1K+ Bottega Veneta's) — does that outfit sound familiar at all?
I find it unlikely that Mod Sun is in the dark about the fact that his outfit looks almost exactly like what Rocky wears. However, regardless of whether he has bitten the A$AP Mob frontman's style or not, there's no denying that it's a strong 'fit.
I'm not sure if Rocky will agree with me, but I'm all for seeing more people try out wearing a kilt, jeans, and Timbs.
