'Mowgli' Is Remaking 'Jungle Book' in the Darkest Way Possible
Andy Serkis is taking on Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book with an anticipated remake, dubbed Mowgli. Directed by Serkis, the film stars Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Mowgli in turn centers around a boy that was raised in the jungles of India by a pack of wolves. While navigating life throughout the treacherous forest, he in turn meets a cast of animal characters, some of which befriend him, and others who want him dead.
Serkis also plays Mowgli's dear friend, a bear named Baloo, while Bale portrays Bagheera, a panther. The fearsome Shere Khan is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, as Blanchett stars as Kaa, the snake.
Peter Mullan, Tom Hollander, Naomie Harris, Eddie Marsan, and Jack Reynor also feature in the movie, which is due in theaters October 19.
