Italian label NEMEN is no stranger to our pages, however, the outerwear specialist's high-end Fishtail Parka from their FW15 collection, we thought, deserved closer attention.

Sturdy and rugged like the original army issue garment, NEMEN's Italian-crafted piece omitted cotton for a sturdier fabric, using their cavalry-structure process of twisting and texturizing a synthetic yarn of polyester until it reaches a natural-to-the-touch feel against your skin. It holds color and is strong against the elements.

However, while the coat's shell boasts rugged toughness, the removable liner plays just as strong a card when it comes to insulation and softness. The Japanese quilted lining is filled with 100 percent polyester for thorough insulation against the elements. Overall, NEMEN's Fishtail Parka comes available in three distinct, muted colorways: and earthy dark brown with rich navy lining, a lighter tan with olive green, and a distinct navy with red quilted lining to round out the line.

For more on NEMEN, check out their continuing innovative collaboration with experimental Berlin outfit, ACRONYM, dubbed ACR_NMN, before shopping NEMEN's full FW15 collection at their site.
