Sneaker trends come and go, but New Balance is always managing to keep up and go strong. As the resurgence of Y2K aesthetics takes over FW24, sportswear continues its ever-growing comeback, reclaiming its spot as the go-to for both comfort and style. Think jerseys, football tees, anything oversized—sportswear is the “it girl” of 2024. It’s all about mixing casual, athletic pieces with something a bit dressier to give off a sophisticated yet cozy vibe—and with New Balance sneakers, it couldn’t be easier to tick that box. Check out the 1906, 550, and 9060 available now on Zalando.

Let’s take a look at some of the brand’s all-time classics that we love.

To celebrate this collaboration, Zalando has curated a special event highlighting some of New Balance's all-time classics that we love.

The 1906 is a prime example, tapping into the early 2000s revival with a dynamic design. It speaks to a new generation that's redefining old-school trends in their own way, adding an extra layer of creativity. Meanwhile, the 550 reigns as a global court classic. Whether you’re shooting hoops or sitting front row, the 550 blends athletic authenticity with a je ne sais quoi streetwear cool. Then there’s the 9060, which completely breaks the mold. Its design is like no other, nodding to New Balance’s long-standing heritage while proposing a new angle on what sneaker culture can look like in an era of sporty fashion.

New Balance, New Balance, New Balance

Zalando’s campaign launch event brings these iconic silhouettes to life, featuring a lineup of emerging and established musical talents who embody the energy and individuality that New Balance stands for. The event showcases rapper Layla Boee, R&B artist Ronis Goliath, and hip-hopper Serious Klein—each performing and sharing their personal style stories alongside the sneakers.

Layla Boee, brings her fearless edge to both the stage and her style, blending genres with a mix of sexy-cute and tough-as-nails aesthetics. As a Black woman in the music industry, she draws inspiration from icons who resonate with her personal journey, using music and fashion as tools for self-expression. Ronis Goliath, an Afrobeat powerhouse, channels his roots into every track he makes. His music is an ode to his culture, and his approach to both art and fashion is shaped by the belief that: "If you don't know your own roots, you simply can't grow." Lastly, rapper Serious Klein ties it all together with a nod to his father’s influence on his style —“the greatest icon,” continuing a legacy of generational cool that just flows within.

This event is not just a fashion showcase but a celebration of creativity and individuality, proving that New Balance continues to lead the way in both style and culture. Together, these artists embody the creative energy that defines New Balance, proving that just like the brand, they’re unafraid to take the lead in style and sound.
