The sneaker incorporates design elements specific to Leonard, including cornrow-inspired embossing on the collar strap, his accolades on the tongue, eyelets resembling his 1964 classic car, and a quilted heel tab that references the classic ride. On the heel you will find an "M" and the latitude and longitude coordinates pointing to Kawhi's hometown of Moreno Valley, California. The translucent and glossy materials used on the sneaker mimic the Jolly Rancher candy.

Editor’s Notes: Kawhi Leonard is known for his stone cold demeanor, but there are a handful of things that make him smile. One of these is his favorite childhood candy, Jolly Ranchers. New Balance has in turn partnered with Hershey to release a Jolly Rancher-themed Kawhi collection.
Leonard debuted the collaboration during the NBA Western Conference Semifinals this past week. The collection is led by two colorways of his signature sneaker, the Kawhi, and joined by New Balance's best-selling 327 lifestyle sneaker as well as the brand's original basketball model, the 480 Low, a pair of slides, and T-shirts featuring the Jolly Rancher fruit gang design with Kawhi’s stoic expression.
“Working closely with Kawhi on this collaboration infuses more of his personality into his signature collection and allows him to further showcase his style,” said Jonathan Grondin, New Balance’s Design Director for Basketball “He wanted to ensure its design emulated the hard work he puts in on and off the court. I am excited to see this launch during the 2020 NBA playoffs while Kawhi continues to put his stamp on the game and culture.”
New Balance's Jolly Rancher Kawhi collection is priced from $35 for the slides to $160 for the Kawhi signature shoes. The entire range will be available in late October. Gamers can also look forward to the footwear being featured in NBA 2K21.
