A Summer of Swooshes
In the northern hemisphere at least, Summer's official beginning is imminent. June 20th, to be exact, marks the day we launch into what is the year's hottest season.
As far as summer apparel goes, we spot two issues: firstly, there's an abundance of trends circulating, which makes it hard to muffle all the noise and really zero in what you like and what is comfortable. Which raises issue number two: comfort. It's sunny, it's hot, sure, that's great. But it also limits one's clothing options. You wanna look put-together, but you don't wanna suffocate.
In light of the above, we felt it'd be a good idea to advise you both on how to dress of the moment, and in pieces that prioritize wearability and ease over complicated frills. To do so – and to save you a buck, on top all else – we combed through the Nike summer sale.
Preppy Pragmatism
We've seen and reported on how both golf and tennis have somehow taken the world of fashion by storm. Part of the aftershock of quiet luxury's forceful impact, outfits that further emulate the wealthy and their taste for the finer things in life remain in style.
Luckily, hot weather provides the perfect conditions to be taking cues from activewear, as it is designed to keep you looking and feeling cool, in all aspects. Needless to say, Nike are experts on this front, so help yourself to items that are half "rich person's hobby", half "sweat no more".
Go Laceless
Mules, clogs, slides, slingbacks, loafers, sandals... the list truly does go on and on, proving this has been the year of shoes that are not sneakers. Contemporary men's footwear has really diversified, we would know. With so many new options though, it's hard not to get overwhelmed.
Whether you'd like to embark on a laceless journey with something simple and effortless, or are a seasoned experimentalist and love a bit of fun on your feet, your wish is Nike's command.
The shorter the short ...
Whereas shoes have lost their laces, shorts appear to have lost, well, fabric. One of the leading trends of recent memory has been men's shorts going from knee-hitting Bermudas to hot pants.
Show some leg, we say!
... the faster the run?
Running has, culturally, never seemed so ubiquitous. I mean, people are literally joining running clubs to substitute dating apps. That said, you need a decent set of shoes to hit the track, pavement, field – whatever surface it is you'd like to bolt across. Run off now, go, get outta here!
