Pop Smoke Fans Unite for Moving Brooklyn Memorial
Two weeks after Pop Smoke was tragically murdered, thousands showed up to honor his life at a funeral procession yesterday afternoon through his old neighborhood, Canarsie, Brooklyn.
Fans, friends, and family gathered around a horse-drawn carriage, with the casket seen through its glass walls. A Lamborghini sent by Pop's friend 50 Cent followed the hearse, and a heavy police presence guided throngs of fans. Along the way, the crowd passed a mural of the late rapper on 82nd Street.
While the circumstances that brought everyone together were undeniably tragic, Brooklyn still united to celebrate one of their own. His beloved neighborhood of Canarsie came together in a way that would have surely made Pop Smoke proud. Fans were heard shouting "Woo," blasting Pop's anthems “Welcome to the Party,” “Dior,” and “Shake the Room,” and people danced on top of cars.
Fans of the late rapper posted hundreds of videos and photos from the massive memorial, paying their last respects. Scroll down for some of the touching tributes and to see Brooklyn say goodbye to one of their sons.
