‘A Quiet Place Part II’ Gets an Optimistic Release Date
After its original late March release date was scrapped due to theater closures amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, A Quiet Place Part II has got a new and optimistic release date, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The much-anticipated sequel by director (and former star) John Krasinski was originally slated for a March 20 release. It was just one of many major releases that had to revise its release schedule when theaters began shuttering. However, unlike many other films which have pushed back release dates to 2021, Paramount has shifted the release to September 4, 2020.
The first film, likewise directed by Krasinski, was a surprise major hit at the global box office, making more than $340 million. Paramount concluded its test screenings last month to rave reviews, and it looks like the studio is eager to get the film into theaters as soon as feasibly possible.
It awaits to be seen whether theaters will be fully back in operation by that date. In China, theaters began to re-open after the outbreak had subsided before mounting fears of a second wave of infection forced them closed once again.
