Ray-Ban Debuts New "Meteor" Frame with Jesse Boykins III for SS17 That Riffs off '60s Style
The arguable kings of the sunglasses game, Ray-Ban is taking it up a notch for SS17 by bringing back one of its classic styles from the '60s.
The Meteor is an aesthetic throwback to classic '60s eyewear style that updates the iconic Wayfarer shape with a slightly flared rim. However the shades still retain the Wayfarer's effortlessly cool and highly adaptable unisex shape.
The Meteor's acetate frames and UV protection-providing crystal lenses come in three colorways of Shiny Black with G15 polar lenses, Shiny Havana with Brown Gradient lenses, and Shiny Stripped Havana with B15 lenses. To distinguish the frames that little bit more, the sunnies’ feature #Reloaded engraved on the temples.
Ray-Ban's Reloaded program is behind the new and extremely limited drop. The program intends to bring past collections from the label's extensive archive back into stylistic circulation with some subtle aesthetic updates. Which is good news for summer.
Ray-Ban's highly limited edition Meteor will be available in selected Ray-Ban flagships and on Ray-Ban.com for only five days from April 10 to 15.
