Samsung Galaxy Buds Live’s Baseline Feature Is Something Apple Considers "Pro"
Samsung introduced its new Galaxy Buds Live yesterday during the first-ever virtual Galaxy Unpacked event. One of the key features for the earbuds is Active Noise Cancellation, an attribute Samsung's competitor, Apple, considers a perk reserved for the Pro version of the AirPods.
The Galaxy Buds Live offer Active Noise Cancellation — which allows you to tune in or out to the world around you — for six hours of battery life, while you can get eight hours of playback with the feature turned off. A 12mm speaker and bass duct transmit deep and rich sounds, all while delivering an immersive audio experience.
The earbuds are outfitted with three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit, translating to clear phone calls and unmistakable voice commands. Galaxy Buds Live also feature intuitive touch control, in addition to Bixby voice wake-up, making it easier than ever to navigate music, open apps, and send messages hands-free.
From a design standpoint, Samsung's new earbuds boast a reconfigured look, with the internal components laid out horizontally instead of vertically to eliminate the buds from protruding from your ears. The tip-less build allows the earbuds to conform to the shape of your ear for a more conformable wear.
The Galaxy Buds Live come with a charging case that gives an additional 15 hours of playback over multiple charges. You can take advantage of an hour of play time with a single five-minute charge.
Compatible with both Android and iOS devices, Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live are available for pre-order here for $170.
