Double Tap to Zoom

Samsung held its annual Unpacked event today in San Francisco. As was expected, the company officially introduced a new flagship smartphone and a new foldable smartphone, in addition to a new iteration of Galaxy earbuds.

We've taken the time to break down each of the newly unveiled items below, so you can learn all about the Galaxy S20 smartphone lineup, Galaxy Z Flip smartphone, and Galaxy Buds+.

Galaxy S20 Series

The Galaxy S20 lineup includes the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra, as each device comes with the latest 5G technology.

The S20 series introduces an all-new camera system powered by AI, featuring Samsung's biggest image sensor to date. The S20 and S20+ have a 64MP camera, while the S20 Ultra has a 108MP camera. By taking advantage of the Galaxy S20’s Space Zoom technology, you can use up to 30x zoom on the Galaxy S20 and S20+, or up to 100x Space Zoom with the folded lens on the S20 Ultra with 10x Hybrid Optic Zoom. Furthermore, the Galaxy S20 shoots 8K video.

The Galaxy S20 also allows you to enjoy a video call in full HD for the first time ever. By using the wide lens, you can talk to up to eight friends simultaneously.

Gamers should be pleased with the 120Hz display that truly takes gaming to the next level. The Galaxy S20 offers a powerful gaming experience with its fast processor, 12 GB of RAM, and audio tuned by AKG.

The Galaxy S20 line comes with a 25W fast charger, while the S20 Ultra also supports 45W Super Fast charging.

Priced at $999.99 for the Galaxy S20 5G, $1,199.99 for the Galaxy S20+ 5G, and $1,399.99 for the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, the Galaxy S20 5G series releases March 6. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra begin February 21.

Galaxy Z Flip

The Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung's new foldable smartphone featuring first-of-its-kind foldable glass. Designed with an innovative Hideaway Hinge and custom-built UX, the device boasts a 6.7-inch display that folds down to fit into the palm of your hand.

The new foldable phone offers a sleek, premium look with its Infinity Flex Display with bendable Ultra Thin Glass. There are no notches on the screen, as Samsung has implemented a centered in-display camera cutout at the top of the device.

Built for the on-the-go lifestyle, the Galaxy Z Flip can stay open at multiple angles when unfolded, thus allowing hands-free use. When the phone is free-standing, the display segments itself into two four-inch screens for viewing on the top half of the display and controlling on the bottom portion.

The propped open positioning is also ideal for timed photography, while access to the rear camera is granted without unfolding. You can capture eye-catching Night Hyperlapse videos or vivid low light shots with Night mode.

You're sure to never miss a notification with the Galaxy Z Flip thanks to the cover display. You can also easily answer a call without unfolding the phone or respond to a text by tapping the notification and unfolding the device.

The Galaxy Z Flip can be charged both wired and wirelessly, while Wireless PowerShare lets you wirelessly charge Galaxy Buds, a Galaxy Watch, or even a friend’s device.

Priced at $1,380, Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip releases February 14.

Galaxy Buds+

Samsung’s new Galaxy Buds+ feature advanced speaker and microphone technology, all-day battery, and new customizable sound, navigation, and fitting options.

The earbuds are equipped with sound by AKG, as well as a two-way speaker system with an added tweeter for richer treble and a woofer for powerful bass. They are outfitted with three mics for clear voice capture during phone calls, as an exterior microphone uses beamforming to tune out background noise, ensuring that you are always heard. Similarly, Ambient Sound lets you drown out the outside world or amplify background noise when desired.

A powerful 85mAh battery gives Galaxy Buds+ 11 hours of music playback and an additional 11 hours when utilizing the 270mAh wireless charging case. Quick charging then provides you with 60 minutes of playback in just three minutes.

Customizable touch capabilities leave you in control even without your smartphone. You can play or pause music, skip to the next track, answer a phone call, and more, all by utilizing simple tap functions.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ will be available beginning February 14 for $149.99.
