Looking to fill the hole left by the demise of the Bread & Butter heritage tradeshow/theme park L.O.C.K, Berlin's "Selvedge Run" stepped up this month to give denim fans an early peek at future season goods. Located just outside the city, the niche show takes a more considered approach, quality over quantity the overriding theme. Describing itself as "the authentic Fashion Trade Show for men’s clothing, denim goods, craft, boots and accessories," the event is the brainchild of Maria Klähn, owner of Selvedge Online GmbH, the parent company of popular Mitte indigo den, Burg & Schild. With help from various experts from the worlds of retail, architecture, hospitality and event management, this debut outing pulled out an impressive selection of names. Chippewa, Studio D'Artisan, Dawson Denim, Pure Blue Japan, Victory Optical, Momotaro and Dehen 1920 among the 40 brands in attendance, "Selvedge Run" looks to build on its first run, moving the January 2016 show into the city centre and expanding its offering.
