The North Face’s Techy Offtrail Is Beauty & Brains
The North Face's Offtrail line, a series of high-performance hiking and running shoes, is expanding with two new, trail-ready shoes: the Offtrail Tech and the Offtrail Hike.
The Offtrail Tech is built for the expert hiker and trail novice alike. The low-profile shoe features a protective toe cap, grippy Surface CTRL outsole, and a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane built to withstand the gnarliest of weather conditions.
For all of its high-tech functionality, this sneaker is still a looker, complete with a thickened midsole and boxy shape that add some retro charm to the otherwise functional shoe.
Available in cream-gray and black-white colorways, the Offtrail Tech is right on trend, too. Chunky sneakers for both the trail and the street, like adidas’ plumped-up XLG Metawave and HOKA’s beefy Speed Loafer, have been blowing up recently. The Tech is in good (and chonky) company.
Then we have the Offtrail Hike. Its silhouette is similar to the Offtrail Tech, but its outsole is noticeably less jagged, making it the better option for everyday wear out of the two. That said, the Hike can still hold its own on bumpy terrain — it’s equipped with the same traction-enhancing Surface CTRL rubber seen on the Tech.
The Offtrail Hike comes in a few colorways, including gray-white, black-white, and a pink-red combination for your Valentine's Day hiking needs.
For those partial to cold-weather hikes and snowy adventures, the Offtrail Hike is also available in boot form. Meet the Offtrail Hike LT Mid, a higher-collar shoe that protects your ankles from the elements.
From weather-resistant boots to trail-happy sneakers, The North Face’s Offtrail line has something for every hiker out there.
