Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, better known as Future, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Future first found musical fame in 2011, gaining popularity in Atlanta when his songs were played by DJ Esco in strip club Magic City but it was 2015’s What A Time To Be Alive mixtape that propelled him to international success.
He is known for his prevalent use of auto-tune and frequent collabs. In 2017, he became the only artist to knock his own album off the number one spot in the charts.
Wilburn currently has five children with five different women; Jessica Smith, Brittni Mealy, India J, singer Ciara (to whom he was engaged), and Joie Chavis.
2010
Future releases a series of mixtapes; 1000, Dirty Sprite and True Story.
Future collabs with Gucci Mane on Free Bricks.
2011
Future signs with Epic Records and drops his next mixtape, Streetz Calling, a few days later.
Future appears on the cover of The FADER.
2012
Future drops another mixtape, Astronaut Status.
Future’s debut album Pluto finally drops with collabs from R. Kelly, Snoop Dogg and Drake.
Future’s single “Magic” featuring T.I enters the Billboard Hot 100.
Future appears on Pusha T’s “Pain,” featured on T’s debut album.
Pluto is re-released as Pluto 3D featuring three new songs and two new remixes.
Future appears on Rihanna’s “Loveeeeeee Song,” which he also wrote and produced.
2013
Future releases the compilation mixtape F.B.G.: The Movie which includes artists signed to his Freebandz label.
2014
Future releases his second album Honest after a delay from being on tour with Drake.
2015
Future releases a collaborative mixtape with Drake. What a Time to Be Alive debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
2016
Future releases a new mixtape, Purple Reign.
Future’s fourth studio EVOL is released.
2017
Future announces on Valentine’s Day his self-titled fifth studio album would be released a few days later.
Future’s sixth studio album Hndrxx drops exactly a week later, making Future the first artist to debut two albums at number one at the same time.
