What We’re Saying: Coca-Cola has partnered with ASICS for an intriguing collaboration that looks like it will get its name out there to a different demographic. The GEL-Quantum 90 acts as a billboard for the beverage maker, one they hope will have sneakerheads opting for that iconic red can the next time they pass by a vending machine.

The Coca-Cola x ASICS GEL-Quantum 90 is appropriately dressed in Coke's signature red hue. The recycled polyester mesh upper — and matching Tiger Stripe midfoot cage — is branded with the classic Coca-Cola script logo in white. Additional Coca-Cola insignias are present on the heel, insole, and lace keeper to further mark the collaboration. Another nod to the soft drink appears on the midsole, where green GEL cushioning wraps around the heel, referencing vintage Coke glasses.

It's worth mentioning that the Coca-Cola-branded GEL-Quantum 90 is officially being called the "Tokyo," likely a nod to the 2020 Summer Olympics. Coca-Cola has been a longtime sponsor of the Olympics, while ASICS is Japanese company, thus the connection to Tokyo.
