Last night, music's heavyweights gathered in New Jersey for the 36th MTV VMA's hosted by comedian Sebastian Maniscalco.

Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande went in with the most promising prospects, each going into the evening with 10 nominations. In the end, Swift took both Video of the Year and Video for Good for “You Need to Calm Down.” Grande didn't miss out though, she took home the prestigious Artist of the Year Award and Song of Summer award for "Boyfriend." It also comes as no surprise that Lil Nas X took out Song of the Year for his Billy Ray Cyrus remixed “Old Town Road.
