Drawing inspiration from The North Star, a 19th-century anti-slavery newspaper founded by Frederick Douglass, the Converse x Barriers Courty Ready Tee is designed to amplify messages of anti-racism and highlight Black history. The short-sleeve top is in turn decorated with a galaxy graphic print in rubber and reflective ink, a nod to the NYC brand and the name of the abolitionist-led publication. The front of the shirt also incorporates screen printed figures gazing up at the stars, while the back is embellished with a “Live Free Barriers” graphic.
