To say that ACRONYM clothes are functional feels like an understatement at this point. Since Errolson Hugh founded the label in 1994 it has pretty much come to define modern techwear through its masterclasses in technical fabrics, futuristic design, and utilitarian style statements.

The first drop of its Autumn/Winter 2022 collection is no different; available now from the Highsnobiety Shop, it has all of the nerdy specs we have come to expect from the German-based label.

Keeping to tradition, its new selection is presented through a typically simple lookbook with styling to make techwear enthusiasts weak at the knees.

The one jacket in this drop is a lightweight softshell suited to the transitional seasons. To help combat the unpredictable fall weather, it has a SpeedLock hem to compartmentalize heat, while underarm vents and mesh-lined venting pockets make way for releasing heat when necessary.

These come alongside the typical features that ACRONYM outerwear has become famous for: JacketSling functionality for hands-free carrying and earbud mounts at the collar to hold AirPods.

The only piece of outerwear in the drop, it is joined by what we are calling "the most advanced hoodie in the world." It's a padded hoodie that the brand itself describes as a hybrid between a sleeping bag and a sweatshirt, however, it is surprisingly lightweight coming in at just 465g.

Its clever features include rapid-adjust tape instead of the typical hoodie strings, dimensional-flex laminate cuffs, and a highly-insulated Primaloft Gold lining. Honestly, I could bore you with technical details about this hoodie but you just need to look at its shiny exterior to get a feel for just how space-age it is.

Rounding off the collection is two pant styles, both of which, in typical ACRONYM fashion, have more pockets than you could ever imagine someone needing.

First, there's the 'P43-GT Pant' made with waterproof and windproof GORE-TEX Pro technology that makes them pretty much immune to any weather. Then you have the 'P44-DS Cargo Pant, which is not only crafted from heavy-duty Dryskin nylon but also somehow manages to house a total of 14 pockets.

Once again, ACRONYM proves why it's the G.O.A.T of advanced outdoor gear.
