adidas’ Country OG may not be the most popular flat sneaker, but it's certainly working its way up the ranks. And with a new Made in Japan release under its belt, the silhouette is only bound to get bigger. 

When it comes to the world of flat sneakers, the adidas Country OG is surrounded by some real-deal steppers like the Samba and the Gazelle. And if you really are the company you keep, then the Country OG is on its way to GOAT status.

That’s not to knock the Samba’s popularity — it’s a fly shoe. But adidas' Made in Japan Country OG is a slim-soled marvel that deserves more fanfare.

The white-on-white leather upper offers a luxe vibe, and the subtle, wedge-shaped midsole, reminiscent of the  of the SL72 while adding some stylistic variation amid a sea of ultra-flat sneakers like the PUMA Speedcat OG, the New Balance MT100, and the adidas Spezial. 

It's a simple shoe, which is what makes it so great. After all, minimalism is 90% of the charm of flat sneakers.
