Editor’s Notes: adidas Originals has unveiled a spring-ready pack of ZX 8000s that are inspired by Japan’s Sakura festival. While the festival’s relevance to Japanese culture is obvious, it also has relevance in German culture. In 1990, to celebrate a newly-reunified Germany, Japan donated 1€ million to plant 9000 Sakura trees in Berlin, which became known as the Kirschblütenallee (Cherry Blossom Alley).

The pack comprises two colorways of the ZX 8000 and arrives in a special-edition box that features text explaining the cross-cultural significance of the Hanami/Yozakura tradition, cherry blossom shaped paper inserts, and custom graphics.
