The adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection Is A Match Made In Slick, Sporty Heaven
Since announcing their partnership in 2019, Prada and adidas have graced us with some seriously slick sneaker silhouettes, first with the classic Superstars and then with the A+P Luna Rossa 21’s.
To ring in the new year, the two brands are back and better than ever, returning with a fresh chapter of their ongoing collaborative union, extending far beyond just sneakers. Celebrating the timeless adidas Originals Forum and Prada’s Re-Nylon fabric, this third collection elevates both brands’ iconic silhouettes, blending them with forward-thinking innovation and meticulous expertise.
2019 saw Prada introduce its unique, new regenerated Re-Nylon fabric — a textile obtained through the recycling and purification process of plastic waste collected from our oceans, fishing nets, and textile fiber waste. This year Prada is not only celebrating this but also its love of craftsmanship. Teaming up with adidas’ unparalleled sportswear heritage, both brands unveil an extensive, new collection, diving into ready-to-wear and accessories for the very first time.
Now, when it comes to this collection, both Prada and adidas are aligned on their sartorial vision. Championing future consciousness, the line reimagines iconic garments in the Re-Nylon fabric highlighting both brands’ commitment to pursue a more environmental approach to design. From apparel and accessories to bags and sneakers, this collection is the pinnacle of sporty luxury, and the first time the German and Italian brands have expanded their collaborative repertoire through a deep dive into their archives.
The elevated Re-Nylon take on the classic Forum High and Low silhouettes is full of signature Prada moments. From the mini-pouch attachment and embossed Prada branding to the trademark Prada metal triangle, these sneakers come in monochromatic black and white colorways, classics sure to stand the test of time. As if this “Pradidas” moment wasn’t enough, we see the Originals Forum trainer boast smooth leather Three Stripes details and forefoot overlays, a nod to Prada’s intricate leather detailing abilities.
If you’re looking for the perfect balance between stylish and sporty, then the apparel in this collection has got you covered as it reworks well-known staples, like the track coat, tracksuit, sweater, hooded jacket, and bucket hat, of course, all in Prada’s Re-Nylon fabric. Dotted with elements of true adidas DNA, the refined pieces come in a duo of colors (black and white, and vice versa), finished with Prada’s enameled triangle logo just like the sneakers. Prada is known for its extensive bag offerings, and joining forces with adidas means that we see some exciting iterations thrown in the mix. Reflecting Prada’s well-known design language but fusing it with the house codes of adidas’ expression, six bags complete the collection. The travel bag, backpack, and shopping bag comprise the larger bag selection, while the bandoleer, the BP hoodie, and belt bag round off the section of smaller bags. Functionality meets the Re-Nylon fabric, which is then married with the Three-Stripes detailing and Prada’s metallic emblem yet again — perfect for any occasion.
