Our Closest Look at the YEEZY 1020v Boot Comes From Kanye Himself
Highsnobiety aims to provide our readers with the latest updates in the sneaker world. However, we cannot verify the reliability of any unauthorized leaks or rumors unless this information is provided directly by the brands themselves.
During that listening party that has taken over the internet (including resale sites), Kanye West offered the world a first peek into his still-unreleased DONDA.
He also premiered the YEEZY 1020v Boot on-feet, matching the previously-unseen red YEEZY GAP round jacket that he wore all night.
Best seen in the social media posts of disgraced VLONE founder A$AP Bari, the 1020v Boot is very tall and very orange. It appears as though this is indeed the production model that will eventually see wider release, as it looks very similar to the kicks that Kanye stomped around in onstage.
Thanks to resell platform GOAT, we first peeped the boots in February. It was initially teased in late 2020 alongside another YEEZY boot called the 1050 V3, which were both the subject of much speculation last year
The YEEZY 1020v Boot's upper features a protective layer that is opened and closed via a zip that runs from the top of the tongue to the middle of the forefoot. Its upper is also engulfed in what looks like a rubber mold that has a heavily lugged outsole. Continental branding on the back of the heel confirms that adidas has tapped its longtime partner to construct a grippy outsole, seen previously on the Ultraboost.
Still no word yet on when (or even if) this design will be released, though it was initially available for purchase when it surfaced on GOAT earlier this year. That suggests there are pairs that have made their way onto the market and could point to a release at some point this year.
