Pay Homage to an Icon With These High, Mid & Low Air Jordan 1 Colorways
The game-changing Air Jordan 1 first appeared on-court on the feet of its namesake Michael Jordan back during the 1984/1985 season. The basketball legend's first signature shoe, the silhouette has since been remastered and refreshed via numerous colorways, as well as high, mid, and low editions. First appearing as a red and black sneaker in the '80s, 2019 high top colorways of the AJ1 have included the Air Jordan 1 Retro High SB "LA To Chicago", a joint-effort piece with Nike SB which dropped back in May this year. Paying homage to the Laker/Bulls rivalry, the shoe a purple and gold upper that wears away to reveal an alternate red and black colorway. Also released in May, Travis Scott's take on the Air Jordan 1 shakes things up with a reverse Swoosh and the Houston rapper's signature Cactus Jack branding.
More Air Jordan 1 and Nike SB collab work came later this year in the form of the Eric Koston x Air Jordan 1 Low SB "Powder Blue" which referenced a colorway that Koston missed out on as a kid — the OG 1985 "UNC", which paid homage to Michael Jordan's alma mater.
