Vans has just announced Anderson .Paak as its first-ever global music ambassador. Paak has a long history with the brand, having previously worked at one of its retail stores in Topanga Canyon, California, then going on to perform on the House of Vans stage and feature in Vans’ global music content series, Sidestripe Sessions.

“I’m honored to be the newest member of the Vans Family and look forward to making history with one of the most respected global brands,” said Paak. “I’m thankful for Vans’ partnership with .Paak House and can’t wait to broaden our reach to help even more people tap into their greatest potential.”

To mark the occasion, Vans and Anderson .Paak are releasing an exclusive sneaker and accessories collection inspired by the musicians's Southern California roots and his breakthrough albums, Venice and Malibu. Leading the assortment are the Old Skool DX and Sid DX, each drawing from one of the two LPs.

The Old Skool DX is a nod to .Paak's debut album, Venice, featuring a wavy upper with digital and 3D printing. The sneaker incorporates a translucent blue Sidestripe and has brightly-colored eyelets. Referencing AP's 2016 album, Malibu, the Sid DX boasts embroidered chenille pattern uppers, with a Flying-V logo embroidered on each side. The shoe comes with tonal black laces and stitching. Each sneaker is outfitted with a custom tongue label and a translucent green waffle sole, arriving in custom packaging with a matching dust bag.

Anderson .Paak's debut Vans collection also includes matching bucket hats with each of the custom prints, silicon patches, and signature quotes applied to the brim of the hat. Priced from $40 to $110, the Anderson .Paak x Vans goods release worldwide on November 13.

In further celebration of the partnership, AP has released his latest single today, called “JEWELZ,” with an animated music video featuring caricatures of the musician and his son. You can watch it below.
