ASICS and Zalando unveiled an exclusive new sneaker collab this weekend with an energizing blue colourway that’s all about inspiring movement and motion in body and mind.

The sneaker debuted during an event in Berlin’s Reethaus—a riverside, Temple-like structure, which was the perfect location for capturing the energy of the day. The space was built for deep, contemplative group experiences; coming together to connect and learn. It’s inspiring, meditative, and it provided an ideal backdrop for connecting with the Japanese brand’s core values. (ASICS is an acronym of “anima sana in corpore sano,” which translates to “a sound mind in a sound body.”)

Guests, dressed in a custom white ASICS Samue set—a traditional Japanese garment crafted for ease of movement, originally worn by monks and now typically donned as loungewear—were invited to participate in workshops that explored energy and community through breathwork, product innovation, and family-style dining.

The day was highlighted by a performance from French contemporary dancer Léo Walk, his first ever in Berlin. Along with three other members of his dance collective La Marche Bleue, Walk’s choreography served as an interpretation of Rajio Taiso, the short, daily stretching routines that are broadcast on Japanese radio to the nation and encourage people of all generations to take part in daily exercise. It was a powerful, moving performance. "I loved the dance performance. I grew up watching my mother dance in her modern dance company, so it was a really emotional moment for me," shared attendee Chelsea Turowsky.

All dancers were dressed in the ASICS x Zalando Jog 100 S, which finds the archive-inspired silhouette redressed in a soft yet strong blue colorway, invoking a similar sense of water-like flow found in Walk’s routine. The blue edition is exclusive to Zalando and a great choice for anyone looking to add an (extremely comfortable) icon to their low-profile sneaker rotation.

Two other ASICS silhouettes were on display during the event—the ASICS Gel-DS Trainer 14 and the Gel Kinetic Fluent. The Gel-DS Trainer 14 is a true brand heritage sneaker, taking a classic ’00s runner and adding an asymmetric lacing system that enhances stability and performance. The Gel Kinetic Fluent, meanwhile, is a product of pure innovation, blending soft foam and geometric gel structures on the midsole for a shoe that is dynamic, energy-boosting, and totally unique.

All three silhouettes are available to buy now on Zalando. Explore the full range here.
