Augustinus Bader has opened its first standalone spa in the United States — and what better city for fashion's favorite skincare brand to take residence in than New York?

Augustinus Bader set up shop on the top floor of The Webster, a multi-brand retailer located in the heart of SoHo. There, the brand has erected what it calls the "Skin Lab," a spa space where estheticians perform personalized skin analyses and one-on-one skincare consultations.

Customers can also stop by the location to receive the brand's signature "The Method" facial, a treatment that features facial massage and LED light treatment. Appointments can be booked via Augustinus Bader's website.

Augustinus Bader's inaugural Skin Lab opened in London in January. Its subsequent expansion to the U.S. is a major move, considering the brand is only five years (in fact, it fêted its anniversary in Paris on the evening of March 7).

In those five short years, Augustinus Bader has managed to become one of beauty's most revered names. Founded in 2018 by the mysterious Professor Augustinus Bader, the brand boasts a dedicated A-list following that includes the likes of Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham, and Margot Robbie.

Powdered by TFC8, a propriety cocktail of vitamins and amino acids that address fine lines and hyperpigmentation, Augustinus Bader's product range is widely regarded as the Rolls Royce of skincare: It'll get you where you want, at a price ($290 per bottle, to be exact).

But it's less the product than its famous following that has catapulted Augustinus Bader to the forefront of beauty. Melanie Griffith and Courteney Cox, early brand testers and investors, got some of Hollywood's biggest names — including goop's very own Gwyneth Paltrow — to board the Bader bandwagon. Griffith eventually introduced the brand to Cassandra Grey, founder of luxury beauty retailer Violet Grey, where Augustinus Bader is stocked to this day.

Suddenly, Bader went from behind-the-scenes beauty secret to skincare star, attracting a new crop of investors largely comprised of fashion bigwigs: photographer Mert Alas, Antoine Arnault of LVMH, and model Natalia Vodianova.

Augustinus Bader has conquered Los Angeles, New York, and London — and with a valuation of $1 billion, the world is its oyster.
