“Graffiti is not vandalism, it’s a beautiful crime.” This quotation comes from André Saraiva, one of a handful of names that shine as the contemporary leaders of street art. Known for his guerrilla street art, the artist is perhaps best known for his character Mr. A, who is canonized in the world of street art and can be found on walls and surfaces across six continents.

As well as being one of street art’s modern protagonists, Mr. A is the inspiration for the Axel Arigato x André Saraiva collaboration. It’s a partnership that makes a lot of sense, and one look at the capsule collection tells you as much. The collaboration acts as a natural extension of both Axel Arigato and André Saraiva’s heritage and outlook. Both originating in Sweden and defined by a rebellious spirit, the collection expresses the shared vision to create a space for community with their distinct worlds.

The limited-edition Axel Arigato x André Saraiva capsule consists of womenswear, menswear, and objects that feature Saraiva’s signature Mr. A tag. Axel Arigato’s core products serve as the canvas for Saraiva’s art. The hero piece of the collection acts as the perfect example of this: the bomber jacket, made of wool and leather, combines all of the icons together with Axel Arigato’s flagship Soho store address to represent the collaboration as a whole.

To celebrate the art of collaboration, the collection launched at Paris’ first-ever Art Basel fair alongside a handful of activations throughout the week. A scavenger hunt around Paris encouraged participants to hit the streets to search for five bespoke hotel door tags with clues posted across social media.

Be sure to shop the Axel Arigato x André Saraiva capsule collection online and in Axel Arigato stores worldwide.
