Balenciaga’s gender-neutral Paris Fashion Week SS20 runway show gave us our first look at an upcoming sneaker design, dubbed the Tyrex. The sneaker is similar in nature to the fashion house’s Triple S and Track silhouettes in that it features an unconventional shape and exaggeratedly complex detailing on its upper.

The Balenciaga Tyrex sneaker looks like something out of a sci-fi film in that it is constructed of many overlapping rubber panels that create an almost anatomical design. The sneaker comes in various different colors, the most striking of which is a neon yellow iteration. The name of the sneaker, Tyrex, is printed on the square toe, one of many defining features of the crazy design.

Check out the Balenciaga Tyrex above and stay tuned for release information ahead of the SS20 season.
