If you needed another reason to get outdoors, the Bandulu Hike Collection is the answer.

There's nothing quite like the passing of crisp morning air passing through the trees as the sun rises. It certainly beats waking to the blue light of a social media flicking morning, and by the sounds of it, Bandulu agrees. Inspired by natural environments and sustainability – elements at the core of the brand's purpose and identity – the Hike Collection brings the Summer and the beauty of nature to you.

Over the year, Pat Peltier at Bandulu has found footing through specialized, hand-embroidered custom vintage pieces, affording new life to the preloved. Each base product, whether it be a Nike hooded sweatshirt or vintage ACG track jacket, has been recontextualized in a way that maintains its original integrity while creating something that feels DIY and personal.

The Hike collection takes this sentiment a step further, marrying outdoor brands with outdoor iconography. Although unique in aesthetic, each remixed product could slide into a Nike or Patagonia collection without feeling out of place. Seeing Patagonia and Arc'teryx's logos alongside one another feels a little strange, but for some reason, it makes sense.

Explaining the inspirations behind the Hike collection, Peltier said: “Through gardening and hiking we nurture our body and mind as well as stimulate our creativity. This collection is an homage to the Earth and celebrates the juxtaposition of handmade crafted objects as well as utility items to empower the youth to embrace their natural world. The upcycled hand-made collection utilizes rare vintage Patagonia & deadstock ACG to Wide Mouth Nalgenes and repurposed beanies. We continue to keep it sustainable and hand-crafted.”

In true circular fashion, a portion of T-shirt sales will be donated directly to Edible Schoolyard NYC @esynyc, providers of gardening and urban farming education to NYC youth. You can shop the Bandulu Hike Collection online from August 27 at 6PM EST.
