1 / 12

Brand: BAPE

Collection: "The Return of Icarus"

Key Pieces:  It's a toss up between the jeans and the jacket. The former recalls earlier streetwear days where Evisu ruled the world while the latter looks like a real DIY joint from a BAPE superfan.

Release Date: BAPE Store Hong Kong on June 22, with a global launch date on July 20

Buy: BAPE Hong Kong

Editor’s Notes: BAPE's "The Return of Icarus" is comprised of nine products, including jackets, shirts, tees and jeans.

Inspired by the legendary sci-fi film Planet of the Apes, much like the overall brand itself, the denim collection combines the future and ideas of space with patches that speak to this theme. The iconic spacecraft "Icarus" even receives its own graphic motif throughout the offerings.

The jacket and shirt feature a mix of aerospace-inspired patches and BAPE’s own emblem. The tee is all about contrast, setting colorful patches against a stark black background. The regular fit jeans are modeled after destroyed washed jeans from the '80s, while the cropped silhouette is enhanced by red BAPE branding on either side. Colorful embroidered BAPE lettering on the back perfectly complements the Ape Head and camo lining.
