Arc'teryx fans just can't get enough of its BEAMS collaborations, and lucky for them, BEAMS loves nothing more than reworking Arc's beloved shell jackets with gorgeous patchwork color schemes. Reuniting for Spring/Summer 2023, patchwork gear is back on the menu – but this time, it's blue!

Anyone that's spent more than a few minutes scrolling through an Arc'teryx enthusiasts group, whether that be the global Facebook page or subreddit, will know that the dead bird's BEAMS collaborations are highly coveted.

Forming part of Drake's Gorpcore arsenal, which includes all of the Salomon and ROA essentials, BEAMS x Arc'teryx has made a habit of utilizing patchwork constructions to sets its gear apart from Arc'teryx mainline or sub-labels like System_A, giving the ongoing team-up a distinct signature.

Although it's important to note that not all of the duo's collaborations over the years have utilized blocking in this way, a healthy majority have, with SS23 keeping true to form.

BEAMS' patchwork Arc'teryx shells have adopted several colorways in recent history, including black/white/grey, green/grey/beige, and beige/grey/black, a multicolored anniversary edition, and now, black paired with varied shades of blue, reportedly influenced by Japanese upcycled boro patchwork and traditional aizome (indigo) dye.

As standard for the pair's collaborations, BEAMS' new line-up includes both mens' and womens' versions of Arc'teryx's Beta 3L GORE-TEX jacket, Atom LT hoody, Mantis 2 waist pack, and Mantis 26L backpack.

Whereas the last collaborative collection marked a first for the pair, seeing it releasing across the UK, EU, and US, BEAMS and Arc'teryx's new collab will first launch in Japan on April 22 (following an April 11 pre-order raffle), followed by an in-store-only launch at Arc'teryx's Covent Garden store in London on April 26.
