Today Beats and AMBUSH have officially unveiled their debut collaboration, a glow-in-the-dark version of the Powerbeats earphone. The result of the joint foray is the first-ever glow-in-the-dark Beats product.

AMBUSH's Yoon Ahn looked to her home city of Tokyo as inspiration for the collab, specifically drawing from the nighttime energy of the area.

“I live in the middle of Shibuya and I am always inspired by how the city just glows at night time,” said Ahn. “I thought it would be really cool to design a product that could capture that same city energy when you’re outside late at night listening to music. This collaboration was designed for everyone who is confident, having fun, being creative and trying new things -- those kids always seem to glow the brightest.”

The wireless Powerbeats boast a 15-hour battery life on a full charge, Fast Fuel technology which gives up to one hour of playback on a five-minute charge, and an IPX4 sweat- and water-resistant rating. The two-way volume rocker and playback controls are located directly on the earbuds, while iOS users can take advantage of hands-free commands by utilizing Siri.

From a design standpoint, the AMBUSH Powerbeats feature a contrasting red “b” badge and AMBUSH logo on each earbud, and come with a co-branded ripstop pouch, ear tips in four sizes, and a lightning to USB-A charging cable.
