Monochromatic looks — whether all-black, white, or red — are always a vibe. But, if you really want to take your fits to the next level, color combinations are the next natural step. When it comes to mixing and matching, though, one needs to proceed with caution.

If you're ready to add some color to your winter looks or are gearing up for spring, we're here to help. Below, we've picked three of our favorite color combinations, sourced from recent street-style looks and Instagram fits, paired with styling tips and shopping recommendations, to give you a headstart.

Though Pantone recently announced that "Classic Blue" is the color of 2020, we're also into lighter iterations such as aqua blue — especially when styled with neutral colors such as beige and white.

More of our favorites right now include bold choices such as yellow paired with pink and purple, along with more subtle combos like red, white, and black.

Scroll on to learn how to rock our favorite color combinations of the season.

Light blue may traditionally be a Spring/Summer color, but that doesn't mean you can't wear it during winter, too. Our favorite way to rock it this season is by matching with more Fall/Winter-friendly hues such as beige.

To pull off the look above, we recommend going a blue Nike hoodie, a pair of classic beige Dickies 874, and all-white adidas Premiere kicks. If you're looking for something a bit more elegant, try going with a dressy bowl Off-White™ bowling shirt, beige gabardine pants from AMI, and Maison Margiela's derby-like sneakers.

Purple, Pink & Yellow

Just because it's gloomy outside, that doesn't mean your choice of colors should reflect that. It's the best time to inject some color (or should we say colors) to your winter looks and, right now, we're obsessed with the purple, pink, and yellow combos like the one seen above.

Try replicating the combo via a purple Carhartt WIP pullover, Acne Studios' pink sweatshirt, COMME des GARÇONS' yellow workwear pants, and Nike's yellow Air Force 1s. Other steezy options include RAINS' lavender purple jacket, Très Bien's pink long-sleeve tee, and a pair of eye-catching yellow pants by The North Face.

Red, Black & White

If the above options were a little too flashy for you, you can still go for less in-your-face combinations. That's when classic colors like black and white come in handy, paired with slightly more eye-catching hues such as red.

We're particularly into the fit above, comprising an off-white fleece jacket, red sweater, black pants, and white shoes. To pull it off, we recommend going with I.AM.GIA's teddy zip-up jacket and Officine Générale's red turtleneck, matched with a pair of black Our Legacy pants and Acne Studios' white Rockaway sneakers.
